PTSA Blossom Scholarship
The Virgil T. Blossom scholarship is awarded to NEISD graduates who plan to enter the teaching profession. A recipient from Johnson High School is chosen annually. The value of this scholarship is $5000 to be paid in increments of $625 per semester. You can make a donation to the Virgil T. Blossom scholarship with an honorarium, memorial or as a thank you to someone who has contributed to NEISD’s quality education programs. Applications for this scholarship are due by January 31st at midnight. Interviews will be scheduled in February 2025, and the Johnson winner is asked to attend an awards ceremony on April 14, 2025.

Congrats to our 2024 Blossom Scholarship Recipient -Emma Walper. Emma Walper is originally from California, but moved to San Antonio, Texas during her 8th grade year. As a senior at Johnson High School, she is involved with student council and dance program. After high school, she plans on attending Texas Tech University with a major in elementary education. Emma's passion is to make kids feel safe and welcome in the classroom that gives them a space to be productive and vulnerable.
